The Website Flipping Strategy

I’ve been reading quite a bit about making money on internet marketing blogs using the website flipping strategy. Unfortunately often the blog posts that i’ve read have scattered information about buying websites on webmaster marketplace’s and then reselling them for a profit. You know the drill… common case of internet marketing guru’s bragging about their skills making money online but still really unwilling to share how they do it and giving vague misleading information. Here is the exact process that I use to make money online from flipping websites…

I mentioned before that buying established websites from internet marketplaces and then reselling them for a profit is the common strategy…. not! I always take it from the developer stand point and sell what I build. Its alot more affordable to build your product and sell it! Of course this does take some knowledge and technical know how. But that is what you need to get the advantage over your competitor.. Do not worry you do not have to build your product from scratch. One great thing about internet marketing is that their is usually a software solution available to make your job easier… and if not someone can develop one. Having said that I like to demonstrate how i’m using php script turnkey sites to make attractive functional and viral new websites in minutes. You will be essentially creating new products that you can resell on webmaster website marketplaces for a decent profit!

THE STRATEGY

Scriptalicious has an excellent catelog of php turnkey scripts that you can make into websites very easily. Another great thing about Scriptalicious is that you can purchase unlimited site licenses which gives you the opportunity to create as many websites that you like with each script using just one license. This will take a small financial investment purchase of course. If you buy unlimited licenses you do not have to worry about purchasing a new license for each site that you develop. Yes there are free script alternatives available. I’ve tried a couple alternatives, and have found that none of the alternatives available offer the excellent support, quality and easy installation that Scriptalicious scripts provide.

Investment

Some great Scriptalicious scripts that I use for turnkey websites are  Page Rank, Keyword List Cleaner, and 37 SEO Scripts Package. All of these scripts come with excellent documentation, amazing support as well as a very easy to use installation process that make installing new websites quick and ez.

Online Real Estate

Research and buy your domain. Do a bit of website domain name research. This is a whole other art form on its own and I will touch on that in future posts. Basically its best and try to base your domains off of keywords that you want to rank for. That is not always the case. For viral reasons as long as its catchy and memorable it can work. Just for example using the keyword list cleaner script.

Construction

Time to get your hands dirty and build your website! follow the directions provided with the scripts. Upload to your hosting account and configure the script for your needs. Its always a good thing to do at least a bit of personal customization to your turnkey websites. Following this principal will help set your product apart from the competition. It’s a very competitive market out their and everything you can do to sell your product is essential. A few things you can do to make your turnkey website more original are.

  • Whip up your own custom made logo or template in photoshop or download a free template.
  • If you have the budget available you could even pay someone to make a custom logo or template for you.

Note for example on Keyword Washer I added a customized logo and CSS to the existing template.

Marketplace… Sell Your Site!

If you haven’t made an account on Digitalpoint Forums yet then you really should. Digitalpoint has a decent and FREE webmaster marketplace. For the price of a small post count you can post your turnkey websites for sale absolutely free of charge. Of course like 90 percent of forums on the web its plagued with keyboard itchy noobies, but it also has its fair share of webmaster veterans as well. I’ve found that with a small budget Digitalpoint can be a good place to market your wares online. An alternative to Digitalpoint is the  Sitepoint Marketplace which has an extremely well established website marketplace. Quite recently they have implemented quite a few new features to protect the buyer and seller from fraud. Sitepoint does charge a listing fee its currently $20 with no listing upgrades. If you do have the budget available I seriously suggest listing your turnkey websites on Sitepoint. The quality of traffic and serious buyers certainly outweighs digitalpoint. Although they do charge a listing fee on Sitepoint I have found that I usually get more bang for my buck. Do not fret digitalpoint is a great choice for those with a small budget trust me i’ve been there.

Thats It

There really is no magic behind it. Although the scripts do make your job A LOT easier. Prepare to do your research and learn basic webmaster skills such as HTML, Logo Design, and knowing how to register a domain name. If you are serious about making money online then its a small price to pay and will make your job easier in the long run.I hope this post has helped inspire you to come up with your own products to sell. Please keep in mind i’m not saying this is a 100 percent sure fire way to make money online.  It is a demonstration of a method that I have used many times to make a profit. Your success purely consists of many variables such as how much effort you put into your turnkey website product originality and your marketing efforts. I would love to hear feedback from my readers if you have tried or are currently trying this method for making money online.
